Christopher Gomes, Samuel Armstrong-Reiner, Tyler Lyons, Teresa Lyons and Michael Thompson represented Epiphany Lutheran at the 2020 All-Georgia Youth Gathering held at Camp Grace, February 21-23. The theme for the gathering was “chosen”. The theme, “chosen,” referenced John 15:16-17. “You did not choose me but I chose you. I appointed you to go bear fruit, lasting fruit, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask him in my name. I am giving you these commands so that you may love one another.”

The story of Moses was used to show how God chose Moses, from birth, through the revelation at the burning bush, to leading his people, the Israelites, to freedom. From Moses, we learned that our fears and insecurities do not have to limit us or define us. We also learned that God calls us all in many different ways for many different purposes to accomplish his will.

Pastor Michael Jannett, Bishop Strickland and Pastor Mary Armstrong-Reiner lead the large group sessions. Each speaker shared their testimony of how God called them to service. Three small group sessions allowed the youth to discuss their “walk of faith” and discern how God has chosen them.

Fun? Oh Yes, We had a dance on Saturday evening in the “corral”. The youth also had opportunities to play basketball, volleyball, air hockey, fuse-ball, and fish at the lake. Did I mention the “out of this world” milk shakes. Just ask one of the youth that attended how great the milk shakes were, or, plan on going with us next year.

Respectfully Submitted,  Michael Thompson
