We want to thank all of you for your pledge of support for the ministries here at Epiphany Lutheran Church. To date, we have received 71 pledges for the 2017 calendar year, totaling $215,160. Because of what you have given, we can do the work and ministry that takes place here. If you have not pledged yet for 2017, you still have an opportunity to do so. Please let us know, because it is only as we know what is pledged as support that we can plan for God’s work in this place.

This year we focused on stewardship as a reflection of our mission statement: “Living the Vision, Sharing the Light.” In other words, as we seek to live out the vision of God’s Kingdom, as we seek to share the light of Christ, what does that mean with all that God has entrusted to our care? We own or possess nothing that God has not given to us. Stewardship is our response to the God who has given us everything. Stewardship is a mindset, a culture and a discipline that can never be contained in an annual three-week financial response.

We emphasize stewardship not just in an annual campaign but throughout the year as a sign of our spiritual maturity and growth. Stewardship is about more than our money. At the same time, we do not ignore our financial response and our financial responsibility to this congregation. This year we sought to emphasize stewardship by having monthly articles in the newsletter and providing Scripture verses to reflect upon each week.

We want to continue to try to lift up the theme of stewardship throughout this coming year. We want to emphasize that stewarding God’s gifts, stewarding God’s love, is a part of all we do, since it is about taking care of all that God has given to us.

I want to thank all of who have helped with stewardship this past year.

In Christ,

Paul Rowe,

Stewardship Committee Chair
