Family Promise Update

It has been such a blessing having the Walker family, the Brown family, and the Appleberry family with us for a week at Epiphany. I hope all of our team volunteers had as good an experience as Sharon and I had. The families had nothing but great things to say about their church experience with Epiphany.

THANK YOU volunteers, both those who had a slot in the week-long program and those of you who signed up, but were not called this time around.

We will have families 4 times a year, so everybody will have a change (several actually) to help us welcome, get to know, and have fun with our families. They are all such wonderful Christian people. The children were a special joy and so well behaved!

April 15th is the next time we will have the families. I hope that our spirit of volunteering continues throughout this program, as it is so well worthwhile.

These particular families may not be with us the next time, or some or all may return to us. I am very happy to report that all 3 families have all adult members employed, proof positive that this program is effective. All the families save their checks in an account, so that they may secure their own housing when that is possible.

Again, Sharon and I have been blessed with a wonderful team of coordinators, we well as all of you volunteers. We cannot thank you enough for your support!

Nursery Volunteers Needed

Can’t get enough of all the cute little kids on Sunday mornings? Want to spend some time paying with them? Reading them a book? Building a block tower with them? WE NEED NURSERY VOLUNTEERS! This is a vital ministry of our congregation. Commitment is one Sunday a quarter during the late service. Qualifications include: having been a member for at least 6 months and being willing to attend the required YPT training which will consist of one afternoon of training and submission to a background check. You will be assisting the staff nursery worker. If you have questions or concerns please contact Sarah Chirico @ 678-448-2793.

We are also currently looking for volunteers to stay in the Nursey during the services on Christmas and New Year’s DAy. Please let me know if you will be in town and are interested in helping out.

Help Wanted! Servants of the Lord/Meals on Wheels Volunteers

Description: Pick up pre-cooked meals by 9:00 am Saturdays at Conyers Methodist Church; deliver meals according to printed route sheet (usually about 6 stops); return coolers to Methodist Church.
Position Requirements: 21 or older with a valid driver’s license (younger drivers are welcome, accompanied by an adult).
Time Commitment: Less than 2 hours, one Saturday. Epiphany is responsible for the first two Saturdays of each month, but volunteers can sign up for as many or as few Saturdays as they like. There is no reoccurring commitment. You can do it just once, or every so often, or every month, whatever you prefer.
To Volunteer: Sign-up sheet is on the Social Ministry bulletin board in the Narthex, just to the right of the double-doors going to the Sunday School rooms.
