Family Promise
We now have seven Host congregations with Rockdale Baptist signing on. We only need 6 more to launch Family Promise of NewRock. A local foundation has offered to match dollar for dollar any funds we receive up to $20,000 to help us get started. Donations can be given through offering or in the Family Promise house in the narthex. Our next meeting will be August 3 at 6:30 at Epiphany.
Please invite friends, coworkers, and anyone you know and yourself to come.

Our Sunday School United can drive collection for 2010 is growing strong! When you prepare dinner or make plans for your Sunday lunch this month, pick up an extra item or two to share. Bring it to Sunday School, and we will donate it to the Rockdale Community Food Bank. Let’s all work together and see if we can fill a HUGE box to help our community. Look for the box in the breezeway. Items needed most at this time of the year are: Spaghetti sauce and pasta, soups, grits and oatmeal, canned salmon, canned chili, and canned fruits.

Ready for the voyage of a lifetime?
At High Seas Expedition, kids explore the mighty love of God on a journey that will change them forever! High Seas Expedition is filled with incredible Bible-leaning experiences kids see, hear, touch, and even taste! Bible Point crafts, team-building games, cool Bible songs, and tasty treats are just a few of the High Seas Expedition activities that help faith flow into real life. (Since everything is hands-on, kids might get a little messy. Be sure to send them in play clothes and safe shoes.) Plus, we’ll help kids discover how to see evidence of God in everyday life-something we call God Sightings. Get ready to hear that phrase a lot!
So mark these dates on your calendar: July 18-23. The fun starts at 6:30 pm and ends t 8:30 pm. Last minute registration will take place on sunday, July 18 from 6:00-6:30 pm. We will have classes Sunday – Thursday and then have a closing celebration with food on Friday. We hope that you will all join us on this voyage and bring your friends too!

Haiti Relief
Due to the recent tragedy in Haiti, we continue to support and solicit support for this very important ministry.
Epiphany’s Servant Journey Team (Lonnie, Doug, Bill Wallace, Pastor Nathan) returned safely on March 9.
The team shared their experiences on Sunday, May 2 at 12:30 pm in the Main Hall.
The news from Haiti is reassuring. The team that left the U.S. last Tuesday arrived safely in the Dominican Republic, drove over the border, and into the northern part of the country. Though there are many refugees from Port-au-Prince, things are stable and safe. You can continue to get updates from the mission site we’ll be serving at, Ranquitte, Haiti, at http://www.christianflights.org/
The ELCA has set up a donation website at www.elca.org/haitiearthquake or if you prefer, you can call and make a donation at 1-800-638-3352, or mail a check to: ELCA Disaster Response, 39330 Treasury Center, Chicago, IL
60694-9300.
There are a good many organizations who are accepting donations. One of the advantages of giving directly to the ELCA is that 95% of the donation goes directly to the relief effort. They have one of the lowest overhead records, if not the lowest, of any major organization.
